TEHRAN, Jun. 16 (MNA) –Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) issued a communiqué late on Thursday recounting an anti-terrorism operation in Iran’s south-eastern province of Sistan and Balouchestn.

According to the statement released by the public relation office of the IRGC's (Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps) Qods Headquarters, forces were dispatched to Qasr-e Qand town in the Iranian southeastern province of Sistan and Balouchestan where information indicated the presence of a Takfiri terrorist bloc.

The fighting broke out at noon on Thursday in the mountains near the town and a number of terrorists were killed and scores escaped, according to the same source, which does not specifies the number of the killed and wounded.

The announcement reassures that probing the area for the fugitives will continue to complete eradication of the group.

The same statement affirms that a car laden with 600 kilograms of explosives was destructed during the operation. Also, 5 explosive vests readied for suicide operation, 700 kilograms of explosives, and dozens of bullets along with rifles and ammunition piles were discovered in the den of the terrorists.

IRGC's statement also offers thanks for all contributions and helps provided by Iran’s police forces in the area and the Intelligence Ministry office in the province.
