TEHRAN, Jun. 11 (MNA) – Iran’s Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani called on national security commission to hasten in proposing a plan for countering the recent US Senate sanctions bill against Iran.

Ali Larijani stressed that the Iranian Parliament will show a serious reaction to the recent US Senate bill that would impose new sanctions on Iran, calling on the national security commission to present a plan on countermeasure for the bill as soon as possible; “The US must realize that Iranian parliament has a strong resolve in the fight against terrorism,” he added.

“The parliament will spare no efforts in lending support to the Revolutionary Guards, the Qods forces and the country’s defense might. Our armed forces will respond harshly to terrorist acts,” he stressed.

Larijani went on hail the value of the unity created among officials and nation in the wake of the dual terrorist attacks on Tehran, adding “the unity must not be damaged under any circumstances. We have to accept the fact that terrorists and sponsor countries led by Saudi Arabia have lined up against the Iranian nation.”

“Especially when we see the US position and the Senate sanctions bill [the same day as the terrorist attacks on Tehran which killed 17 people], all their objectives are revealed,” Larijani said, adding “the enemy’s strategy is to damage Iran’s dignity and busy our authorities with side issues.”

Larijani further thanked officials of many countries and their parliaments who immediately condemned the terrorist attacks on Tehran and extended condolences to the Iranian nation, adding “Saudis, who organized a generous conference in Riyadh to ‘isolate’ Iran, need to feel ashamed and take notes of the solidarity voiced by so many countries for Iran.”
