TEHRAN, Jun. 10 (MNA) – Sec. Gen. of Syrian Prime Ministry Mohammad al-Ammouri and Adviser to the First Vice President of Iran, Head of the Committee for Development of Iranian-Syrian Economic Relations Saeed Ohadi discussed on Sat. in Tehran enhancing the economic, trade and service relations between the two sides.

Talks during the meeting also dealt with overcoming the obstacles hindering the joint economic and developmental projects, in addition to activating the second commodity credit line and implementing the contracts related to it.

The meeting was attended by Syria’s Ambassador in Tehran Adnan Mahmoud and the accompanying delegation.

Al-Ammouri and Ohadi condemned the terrorist acts backed by Western and regional countries which target the innocents in Syria, Iraq and the region, stressing determination of the Syrian and Iranian leaderships to continue fighting terrorism till eliminating it completely.

He offered condolences on behalf of the Prime Minister and the Syrian Government to the Iranian leadership on the martyrs who were killed in the terrorist attacks that targeted the headquarters of the Iranian Shura Council and the shrine of the of late Imam Khomeini, the founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran, in the capital Tehran.

“We stand in the same trench against terrorism and its backers and we don’t have any choice except to defeat terrorism,” al-Ammouri said, adding that the terrorist attacks which target the civilians prove the failure and hopelessness of the terrorists and their supporters before the steadfastness of the Syrian Arab Army, the resistance axis and the allies who are achieving great victories against terrorism.

He underlined the importance of strengthening the economic cooperation between Syria and Iran in different domains, saying “We are looking forward to establish a strategy for building more solid economic relations and there are investments which we hope to carry out.”

For his part, Ohadi affirmed that his country will continue to support Syria in its war against terrorism in different domains, hailing the victories achieved against terrorism in Syria.

Al-Ammouri also discussed with Iranian Assistant Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance Farhad Zargar the mechanisms of implementing the economic contracts and the agreements signed between the two countries in different spheres and means to enhance the economic cooperation to meet the needs and challenges imposed by the current stage.
