Iran’s international referee, Simin Rezaei, who became a member of Committee on Rules and Regulations of the World Federation of Table Tennis only a few days ago, will be the main referee for the singles final at Women’s World Table Tennis Championships to be competed today between two Chinese players.
Thanks to her fluency in English and familiarity with arbitration laws and regulations, Rezaei has well proved capabilities of Iranian judges in major Asian and international arenas over recent years.
Today, she is slated to issue a judgement at the most important global table tennis event to become the first ever Iranian national to carry out the task.
The 2017 World Table Tennis Championships is being held in Düsseldorf, Germany, from 29 May to 5 June 2017. The decision to host the event in Düsseldorf was announced by the ITTF in April 2015. It is the 54th edition of the competition, and the seventh time that it has been staged in Germany.
