TEHRAN, May 03 (MNA) – Iran’s Min. of Culture Salehi Amiri and his Serbian counterpart Vladan Vukosavljević held talks Wed. in Tehran on expansion of cultural cooperation between the two countries.

During the meeting, Iranian Minister of Culture Seyyed Reza Salehi Amiri stressed that Tehran and Belgrade can have joint cooperation in various cultural and arts fields such as music, performing and visual arts, cinema and the press.

“The two sides can also cooperate in cyberspace, publication, organization of book fairs and various cultural festivals,” he added.

Salehi Amiri also called on his Serbian counterpart for expansion of cooperation between the two countries’ elite communities.

The Serbian minister, for his part, noted that Iran’s presence at Belgrade International Book Fair in 2016 was highly fruitful and positive.

“At the moment, relations between the two countries are at a high level and we have many cultural exchanges and agreements,” he said.

“Translation of works will lead to a better understanding of each nation, and currently the Iranian cultural attaché is translating and printing reference and poetry books of great Iranian poets,” he added.

Iran is currently holding the 30th edition of Tehran International Book Fair at Shahr-e Aftab International Exhibition Complex on 3-13 May, 2017. Covering an area of 135,000 square meters, the Book Fair will showcase more than 4,000 titles by over 2,700 domestic and foreign publishers. Serbia has a special pavilion at the fair and will introduce its publications on Thursday.
