Persians stood on top of the podium with a total of eleven trophies including five gold, three silver and three bronze. China finished in the second place with 547 points while Uzbekistan landed third by bagging 511 points.
National weightlifter Mohammadreza Barari made offered an eye-catching performance by collecting all three available gold medals in the 105kg weight group at the multi-purpose Saparmurat Turkmenbashi Olympic Stadium in the Turkmen capital city of Ashgabat on Saturday.
Ali Hashemi secured the aggregate bronze medal of the same category with 384 kilograms. Furthermore, Iran’s Saleh Cheraghi won the aggregate silver medal of 85kg weight division and Seyed Ayoub Mousavi did the same in 94kg weight category.
The 2017 Asian Weightlifting Championships began in Turkmenistan on April 23, and came to an end on April 29.
