The three-day event will attract 892 karate practitioners from 77 countries to Al Wasl Club of Dubai in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) from March 31 to April 2.
A total of 114 Persian karate fighters left Tehran for Dubai on Wednesday morning including the top two athletes in Iranian national teams who are preparing to vie at Baku Islamic Solidarity Games.
Among all 77 participating countries, Iran has deployed the largest number of representatives to the karate extravaganza. The host UAE will have 38 karateka fighting on tatami while teams from Russia, Turkey and Kazakhstan land behind Iran with 62, 52 and 45 members, respectively.
Elimination and repechage rounds for Kata Individual and Male & Female Kata Team will be competed on the opening day of the sportive event on Friday. Kumite Male (-60kg and -67kg) and Kumite Male (-50kg) will also take place on the same day.
Later on Saturday April 01, Female and Male Kumite events at different weight divisions will convene in Dubai.
The final day of Karate 1 Premier League will be devoted to bronze medal matches as well as finals of various weight groups.
