South Korean Chairman of the Foreign Affairs and Unification Committee Shim Jae-kwon met with Iranian Deputy FM for Asia and Oceania Affairs Ebrahim Rahimpour on Saturday.
During the meeting held in Tehran on Saturday, the two sides underlined the need for the deepening of bilateral ties.
The South Korean delegation have visited Iran to discuss bilateral ties and bolstering cooperation in all-out fields.
In another meeting with Deputy Chairman of Parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Committee Kamal Dehghani Firouzabadi, Shim Jae-kwon said South Korea is interested in expanding its relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran, adding that relations between the two countries is progressing, especially after the implementation of JCPOA.
South Korea and Iran enjoy enormous potential that can be exploited in the interests of the two peoples, he added.
Dehghani Firouzabadi, who is also a member of Iran-South Korea Parliamentary Friendship Group, pointed to the history of good relations between Iran and South Korea and said South Korea's relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran are of strategic nature, based on strengthening and consolidating relations between the two countries.
He also welcomed cooperation in the fields of communication, Information Technology, production and export, boosting productivity, foreign investment and use of all capacities available in the relations between the two countries.
