Mr. Derek Hanekom, Minister of Tourism of South Africa, made the remarks on the sidelines of the 10th Tehran International Tourism Exhibition in Iranian capital adding that signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) could pave the path for bolstering bilateral relations between the two countries; “a major aspect of the joint cooperation could cover close collaborations between Iranian and African industries, tourism in particular.”
He reiterated that his country intended to send more tourists to Iran as well as to host Iranians who are eager to visit South Africa.
The official however emphasized that representatives of both countries had to visit the other side in a bid to improve relations.
Hanekom further stated that tour representatives had to become familiar with conditions and interests of Iranians as regards travelling to the African country.
The South African tourism minister also emphasized that grounds were ready to launch direct flight routes between Tehran and Cape Town.
