“We are not opposed to Astana negotiations as far as the Syrian nation’s interests and preservation of the territorial integrity of Syria are the priorities,” said Ali Larijani, the Speaker of Iran’s Parliament on Wednesday noon. The Iranian official made the remarks during his meeting with visiting Syrian Prime Minister Imad Khamis and the accompanying entourage in Tehran.
The top MP offered his congratulations over the latest victories in Aleppo to the people and government of Syria and reassured that Iran and Syria are treading the same strategic track. “These victories prove the decent potentials of the Syrian nations.”
The Syrian PM, for his part, voiced gratitude for congratulations offered by Iranians and the Speaker of Iran’s Parliament saying that Iran has always been a support for the nation and government of Syria. “Bearing the history, the religious civilization, and the culture of Iran and the historical ties between the two countries, the Iranian supports are not so strange.”
“The recent gains in Aleppo were the results of all efforts and endeavors of both countries, so in addition to being for the Syrian nation, they are also victories for the people of Iran,” underlined the Syrian Premier after highlighting the bold role of Mr. Larijani’s “constructive approaches and bold stances in supporting Syria and Aleppo campaign.”
“We owe this victory to the perseverance of the Syrian army and nation, the supports of the Islamic Republic of Iran and all Iranian brethrens,” asserted Mr. Imad Khamis. “We are proud to share the same front against terrorism.”
He stressed that the coordination between Iran and Syria would be “remembered in history as a brilliant phase of excellent relations between the two countries of Iran and Syria”. Mr. Khamis reassured the Iranian MP that Syria would continue its consultations with the Islamic Republic of Iran till the end of the war with terrorism and challenges.
“The truce shows the power of the Syrian government, while we are open to offered proposals to guarantee the full success and stability for Syria,” affirmed the Syrian official. “We hope that Astana talks, the same way, contribute to stability and security in all lands of Syria till the Syrian army control the whole lands of the country.”
Mr Khamis reassured that cooperation with Iran has always been and would be a strategic priority for Syria and it is not only for the current time of crisis.
