TEHRAN, Jan. 01 (MNA) – Parliament speaker held talks with Syrian FM Walid al-Muallem in Parliament Ceremonies Hall on Sunday.

Mr. Larijani and al-Muallem addressed new developments in Syria following a modest stability which had become possible by a trilateral meeting in Moscow and the agreement on an all-out ceasefire in Syria.

Mr. Muallem arrived in Tehran on Saturday and had several meetings with country’s high-ranking officials including President Rouhani, Secretary of Supreme National Security Ali Shamkhani and Head of Strategic Research Center Ali Akbar Velayati.

Mr. Zarif was also a host for Mr. Muallem on Saturday, where Za.rif highlighted a fully Syrian negotiation table and reaffirmed Iran’s support for Syrian efforts to bring stability to the country.

A meeting will also be hosted by Kazakhstan in Astana as a sequel for Moscow trilateral meeting. Russia and Turkey have promised to guarantee the ceasefire which began on Friday and more or less all groups remained loyal to the ceasefire.

In the very recent development, the UN also approved a resolution on Saturday night with good offices of Russian permanent envoy to the UN Vitaly Churkin and Russia, which demanded that the international community should support Syrian peace process.
