TEHRAN, Dec. 16 (MNA) – Iranian First VP Es'hagh Jahangiri has urged immediate shipment of humanitarian aids to conflict zones in Syria and voiced Iran’s readiness to do so.

First Vice President Es'hagh Jahangiri made the remarks during a phone talk with Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım on Friday afternoon. The Iranian side touched upon bilateral issues, Syrian crisis as well as fight against terrorism and extended his condolences over the recent terrorist attack in Istanbul which killed and injured a number of Turkish citizens.

“Iran attaches great importance to security and stability in addition to mutual collaboration in the combat against extremism and terrorism,” Jahangiri noted.

He also referred to the tough conditions of civilians in various Syrian cities including Aleppo stating innocent people have been killed and injured all around the Arab country in recent years.

The official recalled that humanitarian issues inside the region held great significance to Tehran and Ankara urging both sides to join hands in order to prevent bloodshed in the region as well as to save civilians under siege in different parts of the country.

He underscored that Iran was ready to send humanitarian aids to conflict areas voicing optimism that firm steps will be taken towards resolution of Syrian issues through political dialogue in collaboration with political officials of Iran and Turkey.

On his upcoming visit to Turkey, Jahangiri said Iran’s ICT Minister Vaezi, as the Iranian head of Tehran-Ankara Joint Economic Commission, was already in Turkey highlighting that the opportunity could lead to more fruitful outcomes in the visit.

“Undoubtedly, great efforts have been made by Iran and Turkey to develop and expand bilateral ties,” underscored Iran’s 1st VP warning that certain streams or malevolent media should be prevented from creating fake sensations in order to create problems and costs to relations between the two sides.

He evaluated quick access between political official of Tehran and Ankara as a unique characteristic of relations between the two neighboring states saying “the existing intimacy in the ties can be exploited to quickly resolve regional issues.”

Later in the telephone conversation, Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım voiced satisfaction towards upcoming visit of Jahangiri to Ankara stressing that both sides will be able to exchange views on bilateral and regional issues in person.

He expressed concern towards conditions of civilians in Aleppo and called for assistance of the Islamic Republic of Iran adding “Tehran's influence and assistance can have an effective role in solving the problem.”

Yıldırım He emphasized the necessity of establishing a camp in the area to treating victims and called for support and help of the Islamic Republic of Iran to take these steps.

“Collaboration between Iran and Turkey holds significance both in Syria and Iraq due to their influential role in the region,” highlighted the Turkish side commenting that both sides could join hands in thwarting the plots hatched against the region.

He warned that religious conflicts could lead to catastrophic events urging Iran and Turkey to exercise caution in this regard.

“Unfortunately, our region is the focus of foreign powers and many events take place here against our will,” noted the Turkish PM calling on security and intelligence forces of the two countries to cooperate to prevent bloodshed in the region.
