TEHRAN, Nov. 15 (MNA) – The 6th international tournament robotics cup of Amirkabir University of technology (AUTCup 2016) will be held on 1-5 December 2016 with 80 Iranian and 65 foreign teams participating in the event.

The sixth international tournament robotics cup of Amirkabir University of technology (AUTCup 2016) and the first Humanoid Olympic Competitions will be held in 8 major and junior leagues including MAV robots, Transporter, Deminer Robots, Humanoid Robot Olympics, and @Work, on 1-5 December 2016 in Tehran.

193 teams from Iran, Canada, Germany, Taiwan, Afghanistan, Lebanon, Iraq and Syria managed to register in various leagues, of which 145 teams were considered qualified to take part in the competitions.

This is the second consecutive time that the AUTCup is being held in collaboration with the international Federation of Robotics Feira (FIRA). Currently, 10 Asian countries, 15 from Europe, 3 from Africa and 6 from America are members of FIRA.

The first AUTcup was held in 2009 with seven student leagues. The 2010 completions were held with 22 high school and university leagues, while in 2012 and 2013, 15 leagues participated in the robotics competitions. Amirkabir University began hosting artificial intelligence competitions since 2011, with 7 and 10 leagues participating in its first and second rounds, respectively.
