TEHRAN, Oct. 23 (MNA) – A squad of Iranian freestylers have left Tehran for Turkey’s Çorum to represent Iran at the 12th World University Wrestling Championship.

University freestyle wrestling team of Iran, comprising eight athletes, left Iran for Turkey on Saturday morning at 8:00 a.m. Tehran local time in order to compete at the 12th World University Wrestling Championship (WUWC) which is part of International University Sports Federation’s (FISU) wonderful program featuring 34 World University Championships in 2016.

Younes Sarmasti, Mehran Nasiri, Meysam Heidari, Hamed Rashidi, Reza Afzali, Mohammad Javad Ebrahimi, Amir Mohammadi and Yadollah Mohebi are Iranian freestylers who will face rivals at WUWC 2016.

The Iranian outfit is accompanied by Gholamreza Mohammadi as the head coach in addition to Hadi Habibi, Ebrahim Mehraban as coaches.

The international sportive event is scheduled to be hosted by Hittite University in Turkey’s Çorum from October 25 to October 30.
