TEHRAN, Oct. 21 (MNA) – Iranian FM spokesperson has strongly slammed the recent suicide attack of ISIL on a power plant near Kirkuk in Iraq.

Bahram Ghasemi condemned the recent attack by ISIL terrorists on an Iraqi power station situated near Kirkuk which led to martyrdom and wounding of several people including several Iranian technicians.

The official expressed regrets and outrage towards the brutal act and extended condolences to families of the victims, especially those of Iranian martyrs in the cruel attack while sympathizing with those injured in the tragic incident.

“Terrorists in Iraq are taking their last breaths and they cling on terrorist attacks and killing of innocent civilians as a blind revenge against their humiliating defeats in battlefields," he said.

On the exact number of Iranians martyred or wounded in the blast, Ghasemi said “Consulate General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Erbil is following up the issue though early statistics suggest martyrdom of four and wounding of three Iranian nationals while final and accurate information will be made public as soon as possible.”
