Iranian Minister of Cooperative, Labor and Social Welfare Ali Rabiei, who is making an official visit to Mexico, met and talked with the incumbent Secretary of Labor of Mexico Alfonso Navarrete Prida.
During the meeting, both parties discussed venues for cooperation in labor and employment arenas and mulled over several related issues including development and social security, vocational training and social pathology.
Iran’s Rabiei delineated positive outcomes in political and foreign trade areas during the post-JCPOA era voicing Iran’s willingness to expand multilateral ties especially in trade and economy sectors.
Alfonso Navarrete Prida of Mexico, for his part, voiced eagerness of his country’s officials to reinvigorate relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran calling for identifying of areas for collaboration by the end of the current year.
At the end of the meeting, a joint plan of action for cooperation in employment and labor fields was sealed by ministers of the two states.
Iranian labor minister is scheduled to meet the Mexican Secretariat of Economy Ildefonso Guajardo Villarreal and the current director of Mexico's Social Security Institute Jose Antonio Gonzalez in addition to making visits to a number of social development centers of the North American country.
As the world’s 11th largest economy, Mexico contains a population of more than 120 million people and has Mexico City as its capital.
In the first five months of the current Iranian calendar year (began March 20), Iran’s volume of exports to Mexico amounted to more than 10.69 million dollars while the figure for imports stood at 200,065 dollars.
