The event, entitled ‘Wow, I Found a New Friend,’ is a collection of 6 short aminations focusing on theme of happiness and friendship and is on screen in Paris.
Negareh Halimi’s Pyracantha and Cravat by a Belgian director are a part of the collection along with four Iranian animated stories of the Institute for the Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults (IIDCYA) including Gholamreza Kazzazi's Heart of Scarecrow, Kind Moon by Nazanin Sobhan Sarbandi, and Single-Line Stories-4 and 5 by Behzad Farahat.
Pyracantha, which lasts for 6 minutes and 26 seconds, is an experimental clay stop motion produced in the nature. In the story, the sun rises while nature and all its inhabitants are waking up. One of them, alone, leaves home in order to find its favorite food, the Pyracantha.
Halimi, a young Iranian director, said Les Films du Whippet company has undertaken distribution rights of the production for five years.
“Screening of ‘Wow, I Found a New Friend’ began on September 28 in 36 theatre halls in Paris and a number of other French cities,” she concluded.
