TEHRAN, Oct. 04 (MNA) – The draw for the sixth edition of Beach Soccer Intercontinental Cup took place in Dubai on Tuesday with Iran among Group B teams.

The competition marks one of the most prestigious in the sport’s calendar and will run from November 1st until November 5th with some of the best teams from each continent going head to head for the title.

Iran reserved a spot in Group B after the draw at the Dubai Sports Council Headquarters. Accordingly, Iranian beach soccer players have been drawn against three-time competition winners Russia as well as the USA and Egypt.

Group A of the tournament, meanwhile, comprises host UAE, 2015 runners-up Tahiti, four-time FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup winners Brazil and Poland.

Iran managed to stand on the third podium in the 2015 edition of the sportive event while Egypt ended up in the fourth place.

Five editions of Beach Soccer Intercontinental Cup have been held so far since the year 2011 and the Iranian outfit won the title in 2013 while they finished fourth two years ago in 2014.
