TEHRAN, Sep. 17 (MNA) – National Iranian parataekwondo squad managed to scoop four silver and two bronze medals in the 5th European ParaTaekwondo Championships in Poland.

On Friday, a total of 148 taekwondo practitioners from 32 nations competed for medal at the fifth edition of European Para Taekwondo Championships in the Polish capital of Warsaw.

The Iranian squad succeeded in winning four silver and two bronze medals during the one-day tournament.

Saeid Sadeghianpour, Sajjad Javanbakht, Mahdi Pourrahnama, Mahmoud Jafarzadeh finished second under the supervision of Hossein Modanlu.

Meanwhile, Ahmad Narimani and Mohsen Abdi stood on the third podium.

The 5th Open European Para-Taekwondo Championships was convened in Warsaw, Poland on 16 September, 2016 while it held a G4/G2 World Ranking and was open to athletes from all corners of the world.

Participants from the European continent were counted towards the G4 World Ranking points and the G2 World Ranking was awarded to the participants from non-EPTU Member National Associations.
