China's Ambassador to Tehran Pang Sen met and talked with Iranian Parliament's General Director for International Affairs Hossein Amir-Abdollahian.
Amir-Abdollahian, while pointing to the visit of Iran’s parliament speaker to Beijing, emphasized the importance of the Chinese speaker’s visit to Tehran for boosting parliamentary ties between the two countries.
He also stressed the need for negotiations between members of Iranian and Chinese parliaments given the upward trend of bilateral relations as well as regional and international developments.
The official referred to the Iran’s nuclear deal and the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) saying “Iran manifested its honesty in the course of talks while the US has violated the deal.”
Amir-Abdollahian also appreciated the role of the Chinese government in the region as well as the realistic outlook held by the East Asian country.
Pang Sen, Chinese ambassador to Tehran, for his part highlighted the long-standing ties between parliaments of the two sides calling for reinvigoration of mutual relations and promotion of activities.
He defended Iran’s stance towards Syria adding “Iran and China enjoy common grounds over several international and regional issues.”
The Syrian crisis can only be settled through political solutions and the Arab country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity are respected, he continued.
Sen, while touching upon Yemen and Bahrain issues, said peace and stability are required to prevent terrorists from taking advantage of troubled conditions.
The Chinese official also underlined that Iran has fulfilled all its obligations towards JCPOA and called for immediate removal of financial sanctions.
China welcomes complete implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action since the deal remains a paragon for peaceful resolution of political disputes.
Iranian Parliament's general director for international affairs said Iran has taken any possible measure to find a political solution to regional issues though the aim has not been realized yet; “a number of countries are backing terrorists in Syria while some others prevent the United Nations (UN) from implementing its political plans.”
“The formation of Yemeni Parliament last week and the support of millions of Yemeni people marks a substantial turning point which is also welcomed by the Islamic Republic of Iran,” underscored Amir-Abdollahian concluding “revocation of Isa Qassim’s citizenship by the Bahraini government was also a totally inhuman issue.”
