RIO DE JANEIRO, Aug. 20 (MNA) – Iran’s Komeil Ghasemi has secured his place in final match of 125kg freestyle wrestling in Rio after he quickly crushed his American rival in semifinals..

In 125kg category of freestyle wrestling, Komeil Ghasemi of Iran easily defeated Korey Jarvis of Canada 5-2. Ghasemi then won Diaaeldin Kamal Gouda Abdelmottaleb of Egypt 7-0 in only to meet Geno Petriashvili of Georgia.

In his third match, Ghasemi had a difficult fight against Petrishvili who began better and was ahead of Ghsemi 3-1. Komeil Ghasemi but managed to get ahead 4-3 until fnial seconds when Georgian wrestler gained another point and Ghasemi won the game 4-4- to go for semifinals.

In semifinal he faced Tervel Dlagnev of the United States who was expected to be a tough match for him. Komeil Ghasemi needed just 33 seconds to earn a 10-0 technical fall over two-time world bronze medalist Tervel Dlagnev to advance to the finals at 125kg. Ghasemi picked up a takedown and then used four gut wrenches to finish the match. He will upgrade his Olympic medal as he finished with bronze in London.
