Samad Haj Jabbari, General Director for non-Iranian university students at the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology, made the announcement on Friday, adding that one such facilitation includes the reduction of time for visa issuance for the non-Iranian students; “if foreign students submit their documents on time, their visas will be issued within three days,” he said.
He went on to add, “in regard to the admittance of those foreign students without a scholarship, universities must first evaluate their competence and academic records in the shortest time possible and the students should wait until the results of the evaluations are announced.”
“Furthermore, we have made necessary arrangements with various organizations active in attracting international students so that the process of enrollment will be facilitated,” he added.
Currently, 21,000 non-Iranian students from 92 countries are studying at Iranian universities and the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology is planning to increase the number of non-scholarship international students.
