TEHRAN, Jul. 11 (MNA) – Iranian ambassador to Austria and deputy prime minister for investment of Slovakia met in Bratislava discussing programs on the agenda of ties between the two sides.

Iran’s Ambassador to Austria and non-resident Ambassador to Republic of Slovakian Abdollah Molaei met and talked with Peter Pellegrini, the Slovakian Prime Minister for Investment, with the two sides conferring about current trends.

During the meeting, which took place on the occasion of Slovakia’s presidency in the European Union (EU), the Iranian ambassador said “recent developments in bilateral political and economic relations, in particular earlier meetings between senior officials of the two countries, signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) as well as increased cooperation between private sectors of Iran and Slovakia all mark a prelude to taking longer steps in further expanding and deepening bilateral cooperation.”

Iran’s Abdollah Molaei also handed in the official invitation of Iran’s Minister of Economy Ali Tayebnia to Mr. Pellegrini to make a visit to Tehran.

The Slovakian deputy PM, for his part, expressed optimism towards the upcoming visit to Tehran along with a top-level economic and trade delegation outlining Iran as one of the most significant trade partners of Slovakia.

Peter Pellegrini also emphasized the need to strengthen and boost ties and relations between Tehran and Bratislava in areas of mutual interest.

Pellegrini, who served as Speaker of the National Council between 25 November 2014 and 23 March 2016, also called for increased parliamentary collaboration between the two states welcoming the arrival of Iranian and Slovakian firms in Europe.
