LEIPZIG, Jul. 04 (MNA) – Iranian teams managed to scoop 13 titles in the biggest and most reputable robotic competitions in the world held in Germany’s Leipzig from June 30 to July 4.

After three days of intense competitions, Iranian robotic teams managed to win 13 titles in Germany’s RoboCup 2016, with MRL from Qazvin Islamic Azad University claiming six titles and becoming the winningest team in this year’s competitions.

Kavosh team from Naghsh-e Ghalam High School won the second place in the rescue league level A. The team also claimed the title of best hardware design in this league.

A team from Allameh Tabatabaei High School won the title for best technological presentation in co-space rescue league.

In the adult category, MRL’s small-sized soccer robots team won the world’s championship title.  MRL also claimed the first place in the main competition of rescue simulation league. Tehran’s Farzanegan High School won the second place in this category.

MRL continued to win first place in the section of infrastructure contest in rescue simulation league, while Tabriz’s Ilkhchi won first place in virtual robot contest. MRL also managed to claim the first title in the technical challenge of infrastructure contest.

In the RoboCup Rescue Robot League, MRL finished runner up after Thailand with a difference of 8 points. The team however managed to win first place in the technical challenge of the league.

In the Soccer Humanoid League, Baset Pazhuh team won the first title and Tabriz’s Ilkhchi came in third after Germany. In teen-sized humanoid league, Amirkabir University team won the first place in the technical challenge.

The 20th edition of RoboCup 2016 kicked off in the German city of Leipzig on Thursday and wrapped up on July 4. Over 200 teams from universities, schools and various institutes from 45 countries in the world are participating in this year’s edition.
