TEHRAN, Jun. 07 (MNA) – Presidents of some major Iranian universities met with a group of their counterparts from the universities of Spain at Islamic Republic of Iran’s mission in Madrid.

A delegation of Iranian academicians and Spanish academic officials met, late on Monday, at Islamic Republic of Iran’s embassy in Madrid and exchanged views on the ways to develop scientific and academic cooperation between the universities of the two countries.

The Iranian delegation of academicians included the president of Allameh Tabatabaie University of Tehran, the president of Kurdistan University, and the president of Shahid Chamran University of Ahvaz.

The president of the Autonomous University of Madrid along with representatives from Complutense University of Madrid, Autonomous University of Madrid, Charles III University of Madrid (Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (UC3M)), the Autonomous University of Barcelona, Pompeu Fabra University of Barcelona formed the Spanish side of the meeting.

Mohammad Hassan Fadaiefard, the Ambassador of Iran to Spain, Alireza Esmaili, the Cultural Attaché of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Madrid, and some members of Iran embassy in Madrid were also present in the meeting.

Hossein Salimi, the President of Allameh Tabatabaie University of Tehran opened the meeting with expressing his gratitude to the embassy of Iran in Spain for holding such a meeting and reviewed a list of objectives for international cooperation of Iranian universities.

Ambassador Fadaiefard also thanked the academicians present in the meeting and hailing the good status of Iran-Spain political ties, called for expansion of academic cooperation between the two countries.
