TEHRAN, May 09 (MNA) – An animation ‘Entr'acte,’ directed by Mohammadreza Kheradmandan will be screened in Marché du Film (lit. Film Market), the business counterpart of the Cannes Film Festival, 2016.

The distributor of the animation, Hozeh-Honari (an organization affiliated to Ministry of Culture and regulating artistic and cultural activities) had the poster of the animation displayed in the market venues accordingly.

Marché du Film will be open beginning May 10 in Cannes and operate for 11 days. ‘Entr’acte,’ the latest work by Kheradmandan will be a member of a group of six short films marketed by Hozeh-Honari. Entr’acte is French for ‘between the acts.’ The animation itself is a narrative in intermission of two musical tracts. The narrative is inspired by an Israeli sniper, who, during 2014 Gaza War, had claimed, in an Instagram posting, to target and successfully kill 13 Palestinian children in a course of a day activity.

Still in a related story, Little Boy, directed by Mona Shahi will be displayed in French, and Venezuelan film festivals. The short animated story had already experienced Austrian Tricky Women Festival, Polish Zoom Festival, Italian Lecce Festival and Atlanta Film Festival in the US, which was the animation’s debut appearance during Iranian New Year during April.

The second event for Little Boy is the 6th edition of Venezuelan FICAIJ film festival, to be held May 22-27. It will also be displayed in French Plein la Bobine Festival section for teen +13 audience which will be held June 11-17.

The animated story is focused upon an episode of the War of 1980 where the city is being evacuated by the army soldiers. An orphaned boy refuses to respond to a soldier’s call. Caught in a cruel game of the war, the little boy of the story is displayed to go for his own business, unaware of the overpowering destiny.
