TEHRAN, May 08 (MNA) – Iran’s Foreign Ministry has strongly denounced the recent violation of ceasefire in Syria by terrorists and armed opposition in Khan Touman village, south of the city of Aleppo.

Hossein Amir-Abdollahain, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab-African Affairs, told Al-Alam News channel on Sat. that one of the key topics of discussion between Tehran and Moscow during the recent talks with Russian officials has been the evaluation of factors of ceasefire violation in Syria.

According to him, the joint actions by terrorists and irresponsible armed forces that are incorrectly labeled as ‘moderate opposition’ in taking advantage of ceasefire in Syria proves that these foreign-backed militant groups seek to continue their military aggression and do not believe in any political solution for the Syrian crisis.

“We believe that the only viable solution for Syria is a political one, and terrorists and all armed groups affiliated with them must be condemned and suppressed by the international community so that the political solution could get a chance to advance,” he stressed.

On Friday, merely two hours after an official announcement of ceasefire across Aleppo, Al-Nusra terrorists affiliated with Al-Qaeda seized control of the town of Khan Touman. Currently, terrorists have seized al-Khalidiya neighborhood in Homs and the town of Khan Touman, while the Syian Army has begun operations to recapture these regions.
