Iran’s Tractorsazi of Tabriz found their way to the round of 16 of the AFC Champions League atop group C winners following a 2-nil victory against 2014 finalists Al Hilal of Saudi Arabia in the capital city of Qatar.
No goals were scored in the first 45 minutes while Tractorsazi’s Cameroonian player Aloys Nong found the net for the Iranian team in in the 66th minute to prepare the ground for his team’s fourth victory in five games.
Farzad Hatami netted for the Iranian side securing the full 3 points with 9 minutes remaining in the 2nd half.
Meanwhile, Al Hilal will have to wait until their final game, once more against Tractorsazi, before confirming their place in the last 16 for the eighth season in a row.
