TEHRAN, Apr. 09 (MNA) – Tehran was latest stop of Shakespeare's Globe actors who are on an around-the-world tour of Hamlet to mark Shakespeare's 450th birthday anniversary.

William Shakespeare’s most renowned play of Hamlet was staged at Tamashakhaneh Iranshahr in Tehran on Thursday to commemorate the 450th anniversary of the great playwright.

The play was performed by the British actors from Shakespeare's Globe in Nazerzadeh Kermani hall of the complex.

The production was staged in partnership with the Iranian Artists Forum (IAF), and under the patronage of UNESCO.

Before actors get on stage, Ms. Esther Kuisch Laroche, Director of UNESCO Tehran Cluster Office and UNESCO Representative to Turkmenistan, briefed the audience bout the global tour of this production.

Laroche was followed by Majid Rajabi Memar who recited the message of the noted Russian theatre director Anatoly Vasiliev on the occasion of World Theatre Day.
