Four Iranian movies to be screened in the 15th TIFF in California, US include: 'Oblivion Season’ by Abbas Rafei, ‘The Buffalo’ by Kaveh Sajjadi Hoseini, 'Atlan' by Moeen Karimoddini, and 'Life on the Border' by Bahman Ghobadi.
Rafei’s award winning ‘Oblivion Season’ is about a woman with a troubled past who starts a new life by marrying her loved one but leaving the shadow of her dark past is not as easy as it seemed. Now she is the prisoner of her loved one and to earn her freedom she should fight with the masculine society.
‘The Buffalo’ narrates the story of a couple, Shokufeh and Iman who plan to leave Iran and travel to the port city of Anzali to meet a man who is to smuggle them across the border. This meeting does not go well for the couple.
‘Atlan’ depicts the life of Ali, a Turkman horse trainer, who is planning to use his horses' awards money to pay for his wedding.
‘Life on the Border’ is about the refugee camps in Kobane and in Shingal and the story of eight children as seen through their own eyes.
The 15th edition of the Tiburon International Film Festival (TIFF) will be held on 8-15 April, 2016 in Tiburon, California, in the United States.
