At the open session of the Iranian Parliament on Monday, a statement was signed by 222 parliamentarians condemning the decision by GCC member countries to designate the Hezbollah militant group a terrorist organization.
The full text of the statement reads:
Lebanese Hezbollah marks a symbol of resistance against the criminal Zionist regime; in the absence of Hezbollah, Israel would continue its occupation of southern Lebanon with the allied Takfiris of the regime attacking territorial integrity of Lebanon similar to Syria.
Hezbollah, Islamic Jihad and Hamas, as the Islamic nation’s reputation, are shining in the fight against the massive and brutal offense of global arrogance, especially America and the Zionist regime.
The infected regime of Al Saud has applied pressure on other members of the [Persian] Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) to recognize Hezbollah as a terrorist group assigning sanctions against it. Indeed, more could not be expected from Saudi Arabia who are not committed to Islam and have bombarded the innocent people of Yemen in the past year slaughtering thousands of women and children at the order of the US and the Zionist regime.
Countries like Oman, Kuwait and Qatar, who have never contributed to the Resistance, should not board the ‘drowning ship’ of Saudi Arabia standing against other Islamic nations and states.
It is expected that unlike Saudis, they support Hezbollah as a symbol of resistance against Israel as it was the case in the past.
We, as representatives of the great Iranian nation, severely condemn GCC’s insult against Hezbollah deeming the action as an insult to the government and people of Lebanon.
Once again, we declare our all-embracing support of Hezbollah and its courageous leader Seyed Hassan Nasrollah.
