TEHRAN, Feb. 21 (MNA) – Iran’s freestylers have won 3 different gold, silver bronze and medals in the second four weight categories in Asian Freestyle Championships in Thailand.

The championship saw its early champion Iran which secured the first place with 3 shining golds in the first four weight categories. In the second day, Iranians won other medals however this time only bronze and silver to add to their diversity of medals.

In 61kg. category, Behnam Ehsanpour had underperformed and lost to Daulet Niyazbekov of Kazakhstan 10-0 to get the silver. Ehsanpour had already defeated its rivals from India, Japan, and Mongolia. In 70kg. category, Mohammad Naderi defeated Japanese Takujima 10-7 in match for third and fourth place to snatch the bronze medal. Naderi struck an off draw before winning Thai freestyler to advance to semifinals where he was defeated by Bahrain’s wrestler Adam Batirov who is a Russian by origin.

In 86kg Ehsan Lashgari defeated Kazakh (5-0) and Japanese (10-2) freestylers in the first two rounds before he hammered India’s Somveer Somveer by technical fall securing a place in the final match against Uitumen Orgodol of Mongolia. Lashgari won the final round as well against Mongolian freestyler 7-0 to secure fourth gold medal of the Iranian camp in glorious day.

In heavy-weight category, 125kg, Parviz Hadi of Iran skillfully executed technical falls over Mongolian and Paki wrestlers and later overwhelmed Koungjin Nam of South Korea to set up a date with Daulet Shabanbay of Kazakhstan in the final encounter.
