TEHRAN, Feb. 17 (MNA) – Iran’s Hamzeh Mohammadi won bronze medal of -65kg at the 2016 Fazza IPC Powerlifting World Cup in the UAE.

Mohammadi managed to lift the 193kg weight snatching the bronze medal at the seventh Fazza IPC Powerlifting World Cup underway in Dubai.

In the same category, the Egyptian athlete won the title by lifting the 194kg weight followed by the Algerian powerlifer who gained the silver medal.

Other Iranian athletes who will meet rivals on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday include Majid Farzin (80kg), Seyed Hamed Solhipour (88kg), Saman Razi (97kg), Ali Sadeghzadeh (107kg), as well as Siamand Rahman (+107kg).

The seventh Fazza IPC Powerlifting World Cup has kicked off on Friday February 12 with 210 participants from 42 countries set to compete at the Dubai Club for the Disabled across nine days until Saturday February 20.

Fazza IPC tournament marks one of the major competitions for athletes on the road to the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games.
