TEHRAN, Jan. 24 (MNA) – European Association for Green Management (EAGM) and World Energy Fund have awarded Tehran refinery with environmental quality management certificate.

The award came for Tehran refinery for improvements in production quality of oil products especially gasoline in Euro IV and V quality standards for three consecutive years. EAGM and World Energy Fund gave Tehran refinery the highest scores among all Iranian and Middle East refineries. World Energy Fund is an international body responsible for UN environmental projects. The international prestigious certificate came to Tehran refinery for its laudable quality management, compliance with occupational and environmental, and safety rules, reduced pollutant and greenhouse gases emissions, and reduced incidence of workplace accidents. Tehran refinery is one of the earliest refineries established in northern and southern hub and has a daily capacity of 250,000 barrels. The first hub was opened in 1968. World Energy Fund is the most important body to promote environmental projects around the world to which some 177 countries are member.
