TEHRAN, Jan. 23 (MNA) – Deputy agriculture minister has announced the exports of 1000 tons of fishery products to Russia in the first nine months of the current Iranian calendar year (began March 21, 2015).

Head of Iran Fisheries Organization Hassan Salehi referred to shrimp production in the current Iranian year noting “so far, about 16 thousand tons of shrimp have been produced in the country.”

He estimated the current year’s production of shrimp to reach 17 to 18 thousand.

“Russia poses a high demand for all Iranian fishery products including trout, shrimp, caviar as well as cultured products,” underlined Salehi assuring that no problems exist in this regard.

He stressed that Iranian businessmen need to reach agreement with the Russian side; “unfortunately, the decline in the Russian Ruble has adversely affected the inclination of Iranian exporters to deploy certain fishery products to Russia.”

“Considering the diversity of products which have been exported to Russia, around 1000 tons of fishery products have been sent to the world’s largest nation in the first nine months of the current Iranian calendar year,” he emphasized.
