TEHRAN, Jan. 19 (MNA) – Deputy-FM for Legal and International Affairs has departed for Jeddah to participate in an emergency meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).

Abbas Araghchi will attend the session to be held by Saudi Arabian official call to address storming of its embassy and consulate in Iran during public protests against execution of Sheikh Nimr Mohammad Baqir al-Nimr, a prominent Shia cleric and critic of the Saudi family. Saudi officials had made the request two weeks ago.

OIC has immediately responded positively to sit in an emergency meeting to address Saudi case, but it failed to organize a meeting in reaction to a similar request this time however by Palestine to address the attack by Zionist regime on Al-Aqsa Mosque. No attempt was made to organize such session since then by the OIC.
