TEHRAN, Dec. 02 (MNA) – The 2016 Jaipur International Film Festival (JIFF) will hold its 8th edition in the Pink city of Jaipur screening two Iranian short films by Siamak Ahmadi and Benyamin Haftlang.

Making its mark in the international cine circuit, the Jaipur International Film Festival (JIFF) is holding its 8th edition ‘JIFF-2016’ from January 2 to 6 the Pink city of Jaipur.

JIFF has recently released the second list of films nominated for the competition section.

The list contains a total of 64 films; 22 Feature films, 4 Documentary Feature films, 23 Short Fiction, 8 Documentary Films, 3 Animation Films and 4 films in special screening where Siamak Ahamdi’d Confined Space and Benyamin Haftlang’s The Room appear in the short fiction category.

Directed by Siamak Ahmadi, Confined Space tells the story of a girl whose father has been exposed to destructive war and feels being in a stuffy space or stuck in a limbo while the short film The Room marks the latest production of the young and talented Iranian director Benyamin Haftlang.

As many as 33 films have been nominated from India while the other 27 films are from other countries having been selected by various international panels.

"The Film Festival will be organized at various locations of in Jaipur and the festival visitors will get a chance to experience a different cinema," said the Founder Director of the JIFF Hanu Roj.

Organizing committee of JIFF has decided to brand Jaipur as ‘Clean City’ where no promotional billboards, banners or hoardings will be put on different locations of the city so that visitors may enjoy a clean heritage look of the Pink City.

“This year, while there will be seminars, workshops, debates and discussions on various aspects of the art of film making, there will be special focus on screenwriting and screenwriters, the first stars of any film because before the screenwriter, a film is just a blank piece of paper or a laptop screen,” said Festival Chairman Kamlesh Pandey.
