TEHRAN, Nov. 24 (MNA) – Deputy-oil minister has said a Dutch delegation has visited Iran to find more about Iran’s gas investment opportunities.

Hamidreza Araqi, the Head of National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC) who was speaking to opening ceremony of the Global Gas Union Workgroup on Tuesday in Tehran, told reporters that Iran’s most important policy post-JCPOA had been boosting its share of global gas markets; “exports of natural gas through pipeline and LNG projects are on top of the agenda; currently, Iran’s gas exchange and export is carried out with Turkey, Armenia, Republic of Azerbaijan, and Turkmenistan, and our exports to Iraq will be a reality through two routes to Baghdadd and Basra,” he added.

Deputy-oil minister announced negotiations with five countries in the Middle East and Persian Gulf southern coasts for signing new schemes of contract agreements on gas export; “according to the plan, Iran’s gas production capacity will exceed 330bn cubic meters by 2017, well met through rises in production, which would contribute to the ultimate goal of larger shares in global gas markets; along with negotiations to export gas through pipelines, LNG now has topped the agenda as well, with five new LNG projects on the agenda as well,” he detailed, predicting that by 3 future years, Iran would formally launch its activity in global LNG markets.

Araqi also pointed to new gas storage underground facilities in two projects in northeastern part of the country, notably, Shurijeh facility in Khorasan and in central Iran in Serajeh, in desert province of Qom; he told reporters about a Dutch delegation of gas companies which is visiting Iran to negotiate new gas storage facility building, new refineries, pressure relay machinery, and smart control systems of gas calibration; “Dutch companies also received information on Iran’s gas industry investment opportunities; Iran’s most important priority in negotiations with Dutch companies is to indigenize the cutting-edge technology knowledge transfer in gas industry,” he concluded.
