SANANDAJ, Nov. 17 (MNA) – Iran has discovered and disbanded 10 terrorist groups last month, Iran’s Intelligence Minister said on Monday.

The Iranian minister Mahmoud Alavi made the remarks in Sanandaj, Kurdistan Province, addressing a group of scholars and clerics. He said that the present security is the result of cooperation between security, intelligence, military bodies as well as the judiciary, and added “many of the enemies’ plots have been dismantle by the cooperation of people themselves.”

The ISIL is a protégé of the US and Israel, the minister noted and said: " The Islamic Republic vigilantly blocked any move by the terrorist groups and more than 10 terrorist cells were discovered and dismantled during the month of Muharram (October 15-November 12)."

The minister noted that Iran treats all its citizens equally whether they are Sunni, Shia, Muslim or non-Muslim, and added “the Intelligence Ministry will stand against anyone who threatens Iran's security irrespective of their religion.”

Alavi made the remarks in the wake of the deadly attacks in Paris which killed at least 130 people and wounded dozens of others on Friday.

Following those attacks and earlier bombings in the Lebanese capital Beirut, the minister had said on Sunday that the recent incidents are a serious alert to us too and should be strictly addressed.
