BUSHEHR, Oct. 19 (MNA) – Head of South Pars Gas Complex told the reporters about the increase in the outcome of the huge reservoir.

“The whole complex has tapped 1.383 billion cubic meter of gas over the last seven months, which is 14% more than the total production of last Iranian calendar year,” said Masoud Hassani, the Managing Director of South Pars Gas Complex on Monday in Iranian southern city of Bushehr.

The official made the remarks in the ceremony held to celebrate the 17th anniversary of the complex while boasting that currently 54% of Iran’s domestic gas consumption, equal to 2.5 million barrels per day production of crude oil, is provided by the huge gas-field.

“It is while oil giant British Petroleum’s total daily production of crude oil in 26 countries across the globe is 2.5 million barrels,” Hassani drew the comparison to demonstrate the scale of production in South Pars Complex.

He also asserted that the revenues made out of the total gas reserved in the huge gas-field of South Pars equals to the sum garnered after selling crude oil within 240 years.

“The variety of outcomes of the field distinguishes South Pars from other reservoirs in the world as it yields a host of products like LNG, LPG, Sulfur, Butane, Propane, and gas condensates,” affirmed the MD of the complex.
