In a statement issued on Saturday, the Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Marzieh Afkham condemned in strongest terms the Saudi Arabia’s bombardment of the residence of Omani ambassador in the Yemeni capital city of Sana’a.
Rapping Saudi bombardment of diplomatic buildings and residential neighborhoods, the Iranian official called the raid a “flagrant violation of international conventions.”
Afkham affirmed that such acts demonstrated the Saudi kingdom was even unable to tolerate the peaceful activities of Oman.
It is while Oman has played a constructive role since beginning of the war in Yemen in delivering humanitarian aids to war-stricken civilians of the poor country, avoiding participation in Saudi war, and has been admired by the international community and the Red Cross.
Afkham urged the international community especially the United Nations to stand to their duties in preventing Saudi-led military coalition from attacking forbidden targets like diplomatic places and civilian residential areas.
