TEHRAN, Sep. 09 (MNA) – Iran's Research Institute for Cultural Heritage and Tourism (RICHT) and Austrian Academy of Science signed a Memorandum of Understanding in the field of Archeology.

According to the Public Relations of RICHT, the MoU was signed today by Head of RICHT Mohammad Beheshti and the Head of Austrian Academy of Science Anton Zeilinger who is accompanying Austria’s president in visit to Tehran.

Based on the agreement, the two sides have agreed to collaborate in various archeological areas including exchange of excavation methods, conservation and restoration of archaeological sites and museums, and library research.

They have also reached an agreement on cooperation in the fields of linguistics, numismatics, ancient languages ​​and Persian literature, anthropology, especially ethnology as well as visual and urban anthropology.

Study of inscriptions, museum studies, exchange of researchers for short-term or long-term periods, short-term or long-term student exchange programs, research collaboration, holding of joint meetings, workshops are among other items included in the Memorandum of Understanding.

The MoU  has been signed for a period of five years and then it will be extended for a period of 5 years more, unless one of the parties desires to terminate it by giving a written notice to the other party, in which case the MoU will be terminated 6 months after the announcement.
