TEHRAN, Sep. 07 (MNA) – Iran’s Minister of Science, Research, and Technology reported on other countries’ desire to conduct scientific relations with Iran deeming development of scientific diplomacy as one objective of the Ministry.

In the commemoration ceremony for faculty members of universities and research centers held today morning in Allameh University, Mohammad Farhadi said that, “I have explained Iran’s scientific situation after the Revolution in research and education fields and announced our country’s readiness for scientific collaboration with other countries in the Science Journal, the world’s most prestigious scientific journal.”

Stating that Iran’s plan is to develop scientific diplomacy, he noted that, “according to my invitation, we can carry out joint projects in various fields in conjunction with other countries and in near future they will sign agreements with several Iranian universities.”

“We already have scientific cooperation with friend countries and our relations with other countries is improving which means we would not face problems in establishing scientific communication,” asserted Farhadi.

Explaining Iran’s scientific conditions, he said that, “the number of Science and Technology Parks has increased from 31 in 2011 to 36 at the moment."

The official further noted that, “according to the Scopus Database, the scientific status of Iran has improved from 18 to 16 adding that based on the ISI database, Iran’s academic status has improved from 21 to 18 as well as that Iran’s share of science production in the world has grew by 3 per cent.”
