Hossein Amir-Abdollahian who is in a regional tour of the Syria and Lebanon, met with Hezbollah leader on Wednesday, where he received Nasrallah’s congratulations for Iran’s achievements during nuclear negotiations crystalized in JCPOA, Iran’s state news agency IRNA reported.
Nasrallah envisioned a ‘destructive and destabilizing role for the Zionist regime’ amid highly critical situation in the Middle East, and a role compatible with the regime’s expansionist policies; he also believed that the best option for any threat against Lebanon was resistance, emphasizing on the cooperation and support by other countries in the region in fight with Takfirist terrorism and in restoring peace and stability to the region.
Amir-Abdollahian, for his part, reiterated Iran’s ‘highly principled policy’ of supporting security and stability of Lebanon and the region at large; “Lebanese unity is the same as Iran’s unity; we support Lebanese dialogue; we believe that foreign intervention in the region is the sole root of all problems in the region,” he added. “All countries should be alert against Zionist conspiracies; countries in the region should not provide the material for the bonfire burning in the region by irresponsible conduct of some countries,” he emphasized.
Amir-Abdollahian also visited Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri and Foreign Minister Gebran Gerge Bassil to discuss regional issues and bilateral relations.
