Iran’s First Vice President Eshaq Jahangiri, in a Sunday phone conversation with Armenian Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan, deemed the relations between the two countries ‘growing’, saying “there are ample opportunities for the two countries to bolster cooperation and develop ties in various fields.”
Jahangiri further expressed Iran’s readiness to expand cooperation with Armenia in different arenas including energy, power generation and transmission as well as transit of commodities and passengers through Iran, Armenia and Georgia.
The Armenian prime minister, for his part, called for expansion of cooperation with Iran and expressed his satisfaction over the removal of some obstacles facing the prospect of cooperation with the Islamic Republic.
While extending his invitation request once again to Jahangiri for visiting his country, Abrahamyan announced that officials of Iran, Armenia and Georgia would hold a trilateral meeting to prepare the ground for improving transit cooperation.
