TEHRAN , August 5 (Mehr News Agency) – Export of agricultural products rose by 43% valued at $328.1 million in the first four months of the current Iranian year (started March 21), public relations department of Iran's Custom office announced here on Sunday.

The export of agricultural products during the said period registered 14.9 percent growth in weight to 275,700 tons compared with the corresponding period last year.

 

Pistachios, leather, saffron, raisins, and cereals worth 168.8, 23.3, 16.4, 15.8, 14.4 million dollars respectively comprised the major items.

 

The share of agricultural products in non-oil exports registered 6% and 20.5% in terms of weight and value respectively. The above figures indicate that 76 percent of the export target set for this group of products, in the Third Development Plan (2000-2005), has been achieved.
