Iran, Thailand to boost flight coverage

TEHRAN, Aug. 01 (MNA) – Iran and Thailand have announced the plan to increase the number of weekly flights between the two countries.

Ambassador of Thailand to Iran Rasmee Chittham met and talked with Director General for Airports, Airlines and Aeronautical Institutions Supervision of the Civil Aviation Organization of Iran Morteza Dehghan.

The meeting, which was held on Sunday in the Iranian capital of Tehran, discussed promotion of cooperation in the area of air transport between the two states.

Talks also revolved around facilitating the launch of flights to Iran by Thai Airways Airline company, as Thailand’s flag carrier, and it was decided that the East Asian airline will perform its flights to Tehran as of October 01.

It is worth mentioning that at the present time, a total of nine weekly flights are being performed between the two countries six of which belong to Iran's Mahan Air with the rest being launched by the Thai side.

Upon arrival of Thai Airways Airline company, the coverage of Tehran Imam Khomeini-Bangkok Suvarnabhumi weekly service will go beyond its current nine to thirteen flights.
