Tehran agrees more flights to Tajikistan’s Dushanbe

TEHRAN, Jul. 28 (MNA) – Head of Iran's Civil Aviation Organization (CAO) has agreed Iranian airlines increase their flights to destination of Dushanbe, Tajikistan in Central Asia.

Ali Abedzadeh and Tajikistan new ambassador to Tehran Nemat Allah Imamzadeh discussed on Thursday the possibilities of any improvement to Tehran-Dushanbe air route through a MoU by which airlines will rise their number of flights to Tajikistan.

Mr. Imamzadeh for his part emphasized on extension of transportation between two capitals. “Common language and a general welcome lavished by Iranian tourists to Tajikistan entail improved flight services,” he told the meeting.

Tajikistan, a Central Asian country, has been connected throughout the history by its language and ethnic composition to Iran and has been within the scope of historical Iranian influence.

The mountainous country had little contacts with the surroundings and only after the fall of the Soviet Union did the country take steps toward development after Communist Russia destroyed the local traditions and modes of transport.
