Canadians' petition on sheikh Nimr's execution

TEHRAN, Jan. 03 (MNA) – A group named 'Canadians Against Injustice' issued a statement inviting enthusiasts to take part in a gathering aimed at condemning Saudi action in killing Shia cleric Sheikh al-Nimr.

"After more than 2 years of imprisonment and torture, Saudi Arabia executed top Shia cleric Sheikh Nimr in Saudi Arabia. Sheikh Nimr was executed simply because he spoke out. He spoke for the freedom of the minorities in Saudi Arabia and denounced the oppression and human rights violations against them. He was for democracy and peace, exactly what Al-Saud is against. If democracy was to be established in Saudi Arabia, it would automatically overthrow the oppressive regime they have; hence they felt threatened by him. We are all aware that Saudi Arabia is the face behind all global terrorism as well as the funding of terrorist groups like ISIL or Al-Qaeda," the statement reads.

"We invite all people of conscience to join hands on the tragic loss of Ayatollah Sheikh Nimr Al-Nimr who has been executed by dictatorial regime of Saudi Arabia this morning," Canadians Against Injustice issued.

The group underlined in its statement that Sheikh Nimr's only crime was raising his voice for the oppressed people of Saudi Arabia; "The people of Saudi Arabia have long been living under this cruel regime," they added.

"All, please come out and condemn the unjust execution of Ayatollah Nimr Al-Nimr by the cruel regime of Saudi Arabia," the statement reads.

Also, please sign this petition of Shaheed here.
