Saman Bank underscores e-banking

TEHRAN, Jan. 1 (MNA) – Iranians know well about the e-banking services, however, they are not provided by these services as the banks have fallen short of introducing modern banking to the public, a private bank official said.

Managing director of Saman Bank Rajaee Salmasi added that, presently there are 4.5 computers per user in Iran, which is five times higher than the world average. So, there is a huge potential here to spread the internet banking. “The officials’ negligence in providing the requirements can severely affect the process of e-banking development in Iran.”

“E-banking is universally considered as to be the cutting edge of the banking system,” Salmasi stated. Yet, he added, there would be a high risk for internet banking services as there is no direct supervision over online payment systems. “Thus, Saman Bank has undertaken the task of providing software facilities, and we are also trying to encourage more users to give in the e-banking services through designing low-risk payment systems.”
